Spicy Slow Cooker Soup with Ground Turkey, Pinto Beans, Red Bell Pepper, and Green Chiles (Makes about 4-6 servings but could be doubled for a larger slow cooker; recipe inspired by Beef and Bean Chile Verde from One Perfect Bite.) Ingredients: 1 lb. To cook on the stove I would use a little more chicken stock (at least one cup more) and cook on low for about one hour after all the ingredients are combined
Turkey and Feta Stuffed Peppers
I wonder if you could do a vegetarian stuffed pepper without the meat and feta with a soy substitute, as for health reasons, I do not eat meat or dairy products. Reply Betsy November 2, 2012 at 5:28 am Jenna, I made these and your lemon olive oil cake for a friend last night and he could not stop raving about all of it
5-Ingredient Mexican Quinoa Stuffed Peppers - Gimme Some Oven
Then combine them with some cooked quinoa (I always recommend cooking quinoa in broth), shredded cheese (I used PepperJack for extra flavor, but any Mexican cheese will do), and some of your favorite salsa (I used salsa verde). (Mwahaha.) ;) Seriously, such a great quick and easy recipe, and one that I look forward to continuing to keep on hand during the summer bell pepper months
(If you want, you can finely chop the pieces of good bell pepper you've removed and include them in the stuffing, otherwise, save them for another use.) Place the bell peppers in the boiling water for 3 minutes to par-cook them. Then remove from oven, uncover, top with the remaining 2 cups of cheese, and return to the oven to cook, uncovered, until the cheese has melted about 5 to 10 minutes
These were sooo good I heavily debated saving this recipe for the cookbook! They have just the right amount of kick, but you can certainly turn the heat up a bit more if you like. I can just stuff two whole peppers (man size) and have the other halves for myself.Thank you Gina for creating recipes that both my fiance and I can eat

Let us know if you try it! Reply Cara says: August 8, 2013 at 2:25 pm is the quinoa supposed to be cooked before you mix it with the rest of the ingredients and place inside the pepper? Reply Skinny Ms. enjoy! Reply SkinnyMs says: March 6, 2014 at 2:26 pm it will cook in the crockpot, but if you feel more comfortable, you can certainly brown it first and then add it

Once boiling, reduce heat, cover, and simmer until all liquid is absorbed and quinoa is fluffy - about 20 minutes.Preheat oven to 375 degrees F and lightly grease a 9x13 baking dish or rimmed baking sheet.Brush halved peppers with a neutral, high heat oil, such as grape seed, avocado or refined coconut.Add cooked quinoa to a large mixing bowl and add remaining ingredients - salsa through corn. (i know, make em myself)Reply Dana Shultz says June 10, 2015 at 10:51 am Thanks Tom! Hope you give these a try!Reply Dana Shultz says June 10, 2015 at 10:50 am In there like swimwear
However, I confused it with another recipe I was thinking about making that said to cut the peppers in half first, so they ended up more as topped peppers
Reply Krista Lynn says Kelly, I totally missed last nights episode, but I have been thinking lately that I need a good quinoa recipe (no joke)! So this post got me completely excited!!! Main dish searches are also more popular during the week, with 'weeknight dinner' staples like stir fry and dishes with ground turkey highest on Tuesday. Reply Vedika @ Hot Chocolate Hits says: November 21, 2014 at 4:39 PM Hi Monique! I have known of your blog for a while, I saw those brown butter cookies on the King Arthur Flour youtube channel and those looked SO good. I cooked up some turkey and made my own sloppy J sauce with some ketchup (the good kind like Muir Glen), some low-sugar bbq sauce (anything less than 40 calories per 2 tbsps is good), mustard, worschershire, tomato sauce, and a little cayenne for a tiny bit of heat

If you are following a medically restrictive diet, please consult your doctor or registered dietitian before preparing this recipe for personal consumption. when i prebaked the green peppers, i turned them upside down in loaf pans, and the water just collected in the bottom of the pan, and kept them very moist
I was wondering how many points+ the stuffing is per cup? I wanted to have the left overs tonight with some grilled bell pepper, onion and zucchini, but wanted to be sure I stay within my points. I did add more garlic and cumin and cilantro than the recipe called for as we love all those flavours, and I added more tomato sauce than what it called for as the mixture seemed like it needed more
Like I said, I topped Mikey with some mozzarella cheese before popping them in the oven, but I served my own with a dollop of Greek yogurt and some hot sauce, because I like literally everything spicy
