SQL Server 2008 Installation - Stack Overflow
What did work was the following: Go to the control panel and uninstall everything to do with "Microsoft SQL Server 2008" and any other version of SQL Sever you might have. Just delete all the folders of sqlserver on your computer and restart and it should work, or you can go to property of that sqlserver folder and in advanced and un-check the compress and re-run
Unable to install SQL Server Express 2008 SP1 : The Official Microsoft IIS Forums
When a Microsoft .NET application like Microsoft Management Studio starts, there maybe be a slight delay while the .NET security check validates a certificate. First I tried simply to remove the association within PSP, as this did not fix the problem, I completely uninstalled PSP, and tried the install once again, from my local install-file, and from the wwweb as well, all without any kind of success
Fred A 27 Feb 2011 7:14 AM Hi Beth, After running SQL Server SP2 on Windows 7 x64 did it upgrade your SSMS to 10.2.4000.0 or did it leave it at 10.50.1600.1? Both my Win3k3 x32 bit and Vista x32 systems have been upgraded to 10.2.4000.0. Being on the VS team I have a lot of internal builds to install of VS so I am also semi-frequently installing SSMS on the VMs :) Cheers!
