It has been my main hunting gun all of the 35 years since then and has been in my posession the entire time - it has never been taken to a gunsmith or loaned out. This was the reason I couldn't get the assembly off when the bolt was removed - it simply would not travel beyond the spring and rear collar on the magazine tube

A little trick I found when loading the mag, when you get to the point that you have 10 to 12 rounds loaded, hold the lower part of the mag (the plastic part) in one hand and tap the metal part on the palm of your other hand 2 or 3 times

The clips did not seat well (rather wiggly), and the magazine release was not quite there, they did not eject (depress the release and remove the magazine manually). DnC I just bought a Sig 522 and while the stock mag fit fine (almost too loose) the after market mags which are made by the same company, Black Dog were very tight, hard to lock in, and had to be pulled with some amount of force to be removed. I took it back to the store and the guy jammed the mag into the rifle super hard and then said that the rifle is cheap and made of plastic and that is why the mag would not fit
