To do a PR 10km, a PR Half marathon and PR marathon all in the 1 race (marathon), at this level is incredible! If the race was more even, with better conditions, we might of had a 3.05. Myles Fennon was the first Hound across the line in 1hr20mins o5secs after running 2 marathons in (2hr56mins and 3hr05mins) and a 100km race in the last month
Why now? Did I add too much mileage or intensity too soon? Are my shoes the culprit? Was it a change from treadmill to outdoor running? Or something else, like the fact that I stopped taking an iron supplement in February, might have low Vitamin D levels after the worst winter on record, or could being going through a hormonal shift? All of the above make female athletes especially susceptible to stress fractures. Of course, being the running nerd that I am, I immediately started leafing through my training journals to find where I might have gone wrong in the event it is a stress fracture

Gatorade was provided every 3 miles or so (wished they had Nuun or just about anything else.) Post-race plenty of free energy drinks, smoothies, bars, bananas to re-energize. As others have commented, the hill up to the finish was horrible - really - right at 13 miles we need that steep of an uphill? There was also a super steep downhill section that was very tough on the joints
There were ample refreshments at the end, staff handing out chocolate milk to the late arrivals (like me), and medical support with a well-staffed facility at the end with attentive personnel along the way in. The comments on last year's run were discouraging, but I found plenty of water, Gatorade, GU, and cheer along the way all the way through the last water station (about mile 25)

You cross the finish line and there is plenty of ice cold water, water soaked towels and mister system right there, and then you continue on for food and so on
Before runners reach the mile 2 marker, the full marathoners split off from those running the half, and continue on a course that will take them along the shoreline of Mission Bay near SeaWorld. Here, several stretches of the race will bring runners close to the cliffs that look over into Mission Valley below, before heading back to Adams Avenue
