Wait before eating (thus our fiercely timid cat learned to chow on his kibble); wait before getting out of the car, his crate, the front door or any door. Then yesterday Dorothy Barker did that thing where she forgot the end of her tongue was out and just left it lolling out of her mouth even though it was shut

And last night, again when I was at work.) I'm his regular walker and he sees me as his alpha, my mother is not an alpha type so she does not do well when taking him out. Just do not keep him in there for too long (you can put him in there at night to sleep, so 8 hours is okay) If he's a puppy he might not hold it too long either

I make sure he eats his before he gets a little bit of ours, but I finally had to tell him to stop barking loudly, and spraying him with water to get him to stop barking. The worst thing she has ever done was bolt out the door and ended being severely attacked by a dog that is forever being left outside right in front of my eyes

This one on one attention with each parent helped us to feel special and therefore not slighted when we all spent family time together or if time was lavished on one of us due to an event or special circumstances. If I did not allow her to exert her demands on the other dogs to some degree it could make things worse for all of us, because she would feel even more helpless if I took all of her control away

Regardless of how your dog chooses to release his tensions and frustrations, one thing is certain, you have not addressed the root cause of his whining or barking. i do have a anti bark collar coming today but i think i am going to return it because what i am doing works! Any suggestions? What can I expect from my dogs pregnancy? She's 1 month pregnant, is it normal for her to cry, and pace back and forth? What is expected from pregnant dogs? She's a toy poodle. What could be the cause of her sudden yelping? My dog is itching and scratching until the skin gets raw I have a brindle boxer that was born with demodex manges in her bloodline

Sep 12, 2013 Very sorry for your loss by: Anonymous I was walking my 4 month old border collie, Dakota, when, not 10 feet from our front door, a pit bull grabbed my puppy and started to bite him viciously. We have put 70 big neon posters everywhere checked with the shelters and are registered, I put it in all the papers craigslist offered a reward and still no Sissy

Perhaps you are nervous around smaller dogs because you worry your bull mastiff will hurt them? Even if you have the slightest tension in your body, your dog could pick up on this. It is also our responsibility to limit the amount of stress our dogs experience and to provide them with safe and constructive ways to deal with the stress they inevitably will experience

How do I stop my dog from peeing and pooing on the deck?

better than your floor inside! I wrote to you yesterday and said that you CAN'T have him unattended on the deck if you don't want him to go there! simple as that. Does he have any access to the house? Is he not allowed to sleep inside? Do you have a crate for him? Maybe if you don't want him to sleep indoors, you can get a crate to keep him in outside

Dogs sure warm the heart, but man...they can also make you crazy! I wouldn't ever give either of them up, but it's just not cool living in a toilet, so we will be using all of these great suggestions. The other dogs would potty and I'd freak out cheering and giving them treats (they were confused but happy to get treats) and the puppy would come running over, smell the pee and pee too then get a treat too

He is a super sweet and smart dog, and seemed like a great match, since my girlfriend wants a dog to run with, and he is full of energy and eager to please. They are more geared to just getting your dog to pay attention to you rather than actually teaching it something, but it's important for him to trust you before you can get him to do anything else

He won't stop chewing wood!

Our dog hates enough that when he was younger we would just lightly spray it on all the furniture, while he was watching, so he got the message, no chewing any of these places. I keep hoping she'll grow out of this (so I keep hearing lol) and in the mean time I guess I just keep those important wood things covered and out of reach..

How to Get Your Dog to Stop Barking : The Humane Society of the United States

Once you've taught your dog the "quiet" command in a calm environment, practice in increasingly distracting situations until your dog can immediately stop barking when asked to, even when that "intruder" arrives at the door. Repeat the process multiple times Remember not to try to progress too quickly as it may take days or weeks before your dog can pay attention to you and the treats without barking at the other dog

He barks at our neighbors coming up the stairs, some far-off in the distance dog barking, birds on the deck- and heaven forbid if there is a dog walking by that he can SEE! It's not an angry bark- but it is like he's in a blind barking rage! We can hardly snap him out of it sometimes

He sometimes will not move from his perch on the couch at all but at most will go to the front door (which is glass all the way down) and sit on the other side of the door without making a sound. As such it can also help with barrier frustration issues. Here is a bit more on how I exercise my dogs. For more serious aggression issues, including fighting, I would get help from a professional trainer who can help to identify the root of the issue and come up with a plan for retraining

I doubt I'd be the only one complaining since the neighbor on the other side is hearing the barking as well; in fact, that tenant may issue a complaint before I do. Once you know what the law is, START DOCUMENTING the noncompliance of the dog owner: e.g., if the law says that the dog can't bark continuously for more than 10 minutes at a time, do as Bob suggested and keep a detailed log

What can I do to prevent this in the future? If you are on a personal connection, like at home, you can run an anti-virus scan on your device to make sure it is not infected with malware. If you are at an office or shared network, you can ask the network administrator to run a scan across the network looking for misconfigured or infected devices

Joe Chikpea (author) Josehf Murchison1 year agoReplyThat sounds awesome! I'll have to try it!Chikpea (author) 1 year agoReplyThese are great answers, but I forgot to mention - I live in an apartment, so my neighbors can't keep the dog in their backyard. I would walk to the dogs fence spray a spitzer bottle with water and a hint of dilute ammonia in the dogs direction and produce a sharp breath hiss sound whenever the dog barked at me

She wants to do her best, but you have to set her up for success -- I can tell you really really want to do that for her, so I'd suggest picking up a few of these books on puppies and training.posted by barnone at 9:30 PM on February 16, 2009 She will not eliminate where she eats, so scatter her kibble on the floor of the crate at mealtimes. If it's relevant, I think the breeder's home was kind of dirty, and I've read that this may have something to do with a dog not being too concerned with being clean
