Since I downloaded these MKV files, I've also been getting the same error message in Picasa (Google's photo organizer and viewing program) when I open the program and it loads my image library. Not sure if it's using the same codec as above and I don't really have other .mkv files to test with right now, but I went to preferences, MKV is in the DirectShow decoder list, but playing it does nothing

Burning MKV to DVD so it will play on DVD Player?
And you can do widescreen (assuming of course they were originally widescreen, it gets a little trickier if it was a letterboxed widescreen - that is widescreen in a 4:3 matte). Any good software's for doing this out there? If I can keep the soft subtitles and multiple audio tracks that would be a plus but I only mostly care about making a menu of my own and getting the English version with or without subtitles onto a DVD that will play back in standard DVD player or PS2

Your player only accepts MKV that have a very small subset of those codecs, when encapsulated in the MKV container: DivX 3.1-6.0, Xvid, MP4SP, MP4ASP, and h.264 BP, MP, and HP up through version 4.1
