Including picking him up, entering the room he is in if you are not there already, feeding him, talking to him, letting him catch sight of you if he cannot see you already. The puppy goes in his crate happily during the day (when I leave or for a couple hours at a time during the day when I working in the house) and at night

Thank You Crist Lapp! - Melissa May 21, 2014 i picked up "blossom" now "Cassie", she is so michevious but my other 2 boxers love her and they all play together, i bought her from Christ Lapp on May 10, 2014. His intelligence and amazing personality make us pause everyday to say how lucky we are to have found this great little guy! We couldn't be more pleased with our purchase from the Fisher family in Ronks PA

anon How wise of you to be thinking about some of these details in advance! Our elderly cat recently died, the second pet we have had die in our care, and it was helpful on the emotional side that we had figured out some of the practical stuff in advance. And while both my husband and I have had a hard time, and he's seen both of us grieving over the loss of the cat, he doesn't seem to be terribly impacted by it

How Long Does My Dog Have? - Dog Cancer Blog

So I made that most difficult and terrible of decisions that we all have to make for our beloved canine companions, and I very tearfully, agonizingly, sent him to heaven. I so wish that I had contacted you earlier as he was such a fighter I find it hard to see this happen and feel as if we could have done more and have helped him, at least not to become so weak

We currently only handle a limited number of dogs at one time as to provide your partner with the best possible training and attention needed for him to become all he can be. Before we consider a dog as breeding or stud quality, they are judged for temperament and conformation and must pass OFA hip and elbow clearances and eye clearances

It is important not only to choose a dog breed that is appealing to you, but also one that fits your personality, exercise level, grooming and space requirements

Why Do Dogs Bark

  http://k9keystrokes.hubpages.com/hub/DOGS-Why-Do-They-Bark
See all 5 photos Barking takes too much energy for this old dog these days.Source: K9keystrokes Barking non-stop In some cases the dog that seems to be barking non-stop may need a refresher course on proper doggy manners or a (non-pain inflicting) bark-collar. Just like bees, I'm the same cause they're so buzzzzzzzy and might go in your ear, know what I mean?It must be a slight phobia? My dad seemed to instill in me a fear of dogs, talking about being a postal worker and mailman

Labrador Puppy Exercise

  http://www.thelabradorsite.com/labrador-puppy-exercise-how-much-is-too-much/
The stresses and strains placed on the vulnerable growing joint by excessive exercise are believed to be a contributory environmental factor in the development of inadequate hip joints. I have recently read about over exercising and worry I may have caused damage to his joints as I have been taking him out walking on a morning for 40 minutes and he runs around a field near us at night paying with other dogs for about half an hour

My brother was visiting with his dog and although we kept them separated in the backyard, it still put our dog on guard because, afterall, someone else was in his territory

It definitely has its challenges but I always think back on what a devoted little life he has given me for the last 16 years and it helps put things in perspective in his sunset time. It is not intended to be and should not be interpreted as medical advice or a diagnosis of any health or fitness problem, condition or disease; or a recommendation for a specific test, doctor, care provider, procedure, treatment plan, product, or course of action

So, to sum this up: If there are no signs of illness, distress or extreme disinterest in play, I doubt you should worry a whole lot about whether your cat sleeps too much. Kittens require lots of sleep, something like 19 hours a day! Think about this from an evolutionary standpoint: crying kittens would attract the very much unwanted attention of predators; but sleeping kittens make no noise and remain safe and sound

Labrador Retriever Information and Pictures, Labs

Dozer also loves learning new tricks some of his favorites are sit handsomely (that's where he sits up) circle, How was your day (he will bark saying it's been real rough), Play dead, hold it (he will hold just about anything in his mouth), and crawl (just to name a few). We know this information now, but we did not know it when we went to get Bruno (or when we picked out our first two dogs), however he was the last male puppy left so we did not have a choice

It had a couple white patches of fur which we found out to be scarring and whenever my dad were to do something like say, pick up a newspaper, she would flinch. Unfortunately even though my labs name is Lucky he was not so lucky in this matter because as my vet told me male labs are more prone to the type of disease and unfortunatly lucky fell in the minority of being diagnosed with this

When I took him in for his year shots, the vet told me he going to get a lil bit taller than what he is now and easily weigh a lil bit over 100lbs, I also own a rottweiler that weighs close to 200lbs and very tall. I had a gorgeous English red fox tail Yellow Lab who passed away last monday at the age of nine, she was lean, and athletic, loved playing fetch until she would pass out if we let her

This breed is very jolly and energetic so should require consistency, however excessive repetition is sure to bore him and he will quickly lose interest. It'll tell her "Hey, I gotta go back to sleep." It's also a great idea to crate train her as she enters her chewing phase so she doesn't destroy things when you leave the house

Owning a puppy is a responsibility requiring a serious commitment from all members of the family, for this will be a partnership that can last anything up to 12-15 years. A Golden can be all things to all people, from fulfilling its original function in the shooting field, to service dog for search and rescue, guide dog, hearing dog for the deaf and working dog for the police and customs

My understanding is that this is a very slow growing cancer and not prone to metastasize; however, I also read that it invades surrounding tissues and muscles. Any help or advice would be amazing, money is not a problem I just don't want to put him through unneccsary suffering but also don't wanna cut his life short, because he's still very young

When do Labrador Retriever puppies calm down?

  http://www.8pawsup.com/when-do-lab-puppies-calm-down/
There was a time he was really mean to me that we ended up having to get a muzzle for him when he got to out of control, however, I stopped using it because I realized how mean it was and how unhappy he was becoming. I tried putting him outside and then letting him in and also putting him in his crate and then letting him out when people are sitting, but it is the same uncontrolled excitement for about 5 minutes

Above are the faces of some of our sweet, innocent goldens who have had to endure the difficult and expensive treatments to rid their bodies of the mosquito-borne parasite heartworms. We are finding that some of our dogs have a strain of heartworm that is resistant to usual treatment protocol, making their recovery much more difficult, costly and time consuming for our organization

Want a dog like a Golden Retriever, but one that that doesn't shed.

Being good with children is a matter of socialization, getting the dog used to being around children, and training them the appropriate way to behave around children (like no jumping up or no mouthing). Based on the little information you've given, I would suggest adopting an adult dog (like 3 years or older) from a rescue organization that fosters their dogs and gets to know them

Soon my blog started to transform into more of a community where Golden lovers across the globe could share stories, photos, and educate one another on this incredible breed. Due to Quincey and Roxy's popularity on facebook (my friends couldn't get enough of their photos!) I decided to start a blog to post photos and stories of our four-legged children for everyone to enjoy

How much should a Golden Retriever eat per day?

  http://www.netmums.com/coffeehouse/house-garden-194/garden-plants-animals-610/1004154-how-much-should-golden-retriever-eat-per-day-all.html
As it is only for a few days, then if you feed her slightly too much or slightly too less than she normally has then it won't matter too much, as long as she doesn't go hungry. (you usually have to give quite a lot if it is canned, less for a cheap complete dried food, even less for a goos quality complete dried and even less for raw fed dogs)
